020: Dr. Madlena Kantscheff | The Many Lessons of Cancer

Dr. Madlena Kantscheff was born in a middle-class family in Bulgaria – a small country in southeast Europe.

Her parents had a vision/desire for her: to become a dentist.

As an obedient daughter, she did her best to fulfill their desire. At the age of 23, she found herself completing her dental study and obtaining a doctor’s title in dentistry.

In 1986, Dr. Madlena moved to Germany. She went through all the challenges of learning the difficult German language and recognition exams, so that in November 1991 she was blessed to open her dental practice in Bavaria, Germany.

Even though she always had a heart of a servant, she was following earthly goals like monetary success, social status, and reputation. By doing so, she disconnected from her true soul journey. As a result, (and these are her words), she had to face uterine cancer in 1998.

Cancer became her greatest teacher and changed the trajectory of her career and life.

In 2011, she sold her dental practice and followed her heart.

Now she commits her whole time, energy, experience, and knowledge to serving the wellbeing of employees at the working place.

In September 2021 she gladly accepted the position of Wellbeing Officer at my-E-health, the largest digital health platform in Europe and the third largest in the world.

My-E-Health is the bridge between the employers and their employees, putting human capital in the middle of the attention. In this way, we impact the improvement of self and whole by improving the company’s culture.

During our conversation, Madlena shares how she was fulfilling her parents desire for her life and not her own, how she felt disconnected from her authentic self in her drive for earthly success, the clear message she received while waiting for her second surgery, the greatest lesson cancer taught her, and what she does daily to remain healthy.
