009: Ann Fonfa | Healing with Natural and Complementary Therapies
In this week’s episode, I talk to Ann Fonfa, Founder and President of the Annie Appleseed Project, a non-profit that spreads the word of evidence-based complementary and alternative cancer therapies. Ann is a true advocate for the right of everyone touched by cancer to get information on natural therapies so they can make more informed choices.
Ann was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1993 at age 44. As a result of having multiple chemical sensitivity, she chose to avoid chemotherapy, radiation and hormonal therapy. She had 9 years of local recurrence, (misdiagnosed as stage 4 breast cancer) but with the use of personalized Chinese herbal prescriptions, an MRI proved that she was free of cancer.
Then, in January of 2019, Ann was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma, which was said to be toxin related.
We talk about the conventional and complementary treatments she is doing now, what to say to your doctor when you want to explore complementary therapies, the importance of listening to your intuition, the Annie Appleseed Project’s annual Evidence-Based Complementary & Alternative Cancer Therapies Conference, and more.
