Mari Ruddy | A Story of Extreme Healing

Mari spent most of her life trying to avoid being in her body. Between surviving childhood sexual abuse and living with type 1 diabetes since 1981, the trauma of her life left her with PTSD and two suicide attempts. Now a three-time cancer survivor, Mari has continued her life as an amateur endurance athlete. She has volunteered with the American Diabetes Association, and she created Team Red and the Red Rider Program for cyclists with diabetes. She was also the CEO of TeamWILD Athletics, training people with diabetes across the globe to be endurance athletes. Now she shares her journey in hopes that you too can learn to live fully and joyfully.During our conversation, Mari shares how she discovered her “perfect” childhood was not so perfect, how she detected a lump in her breast, what attracted her to endurance athletics, what led to her two suicide attempts and how she transformed her life afterward, the important lessons she teaches in her book, Extreme Healing, and how she helps people that feel stuck when it comes to exercise. For more information, go to Mariruddy.comThe Cancer Liberation Project is sponsored by thekarlfeldtcenter.com
