Nella Anderson | How to Avoid Cancer Recurrence
Nella was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer six years ago at the age of 56. During treatment she was chosen to participate in a clinical trial on how to adopt a healthy lifestyle to fight cancer recurrence. She has continued to thrive ever since!
She is a retired university professor that now takes her love of learning and questioning to continue and expand on the initial knowledge that she gained through that clinical trial. She also volunteers at the Plant-Based Life Foundation to help mentor others to do the same. She has 3 children and 7 grandchildren. She enjoys spending time exploring in their new RV with her husband and their two dogs – Penelope and Petunia.
During our conversation, Nella shares why she had a mammogram every year since her 20’s, how a clinical trial she was chosen for changed her life, what she learned about soy and breast cancer, what she learned about protein once she went plant-based, how something that happened in high school drove every decision she made as an adult, and her journey to losing 60 pounds.
