Cancer-Fighting Drink

Hope you’re having a great start to spring! I absolutely love this time of year. All the leaves are popping up on the trees and flowers are in full bloom. It’s definitely a time of rebirth and renewal. During this time, I’d like to challenge you to try something that you may have let slide during the winter months, whether it’s taking a walk in nature or adding more fruits and veggies to your diet.

I’ve added Matcha tea to my daily regimen, as the health benefits are amazing!

Matcha is a special green tea that has been a part of Japanese culture for hundreds of years. It’s a powdered form of green tea that is concentrated from the leaves of tea bushes.

Benefits of Matcha Tea:

  1. Helps prevent cancer by inhibiting cancer growth. According to the National Cancer Institute, the catechins (ECGC) are so powerful in Matcha tea, (has 137 times the amount of regular green tea) that they have been clinically proven to protect cells from free radical damage.
  2. Catechins protect against damage caused by UVB radiation.
  3. Improves immune system function.
  4. Aids in weight loss.
  5. L-theanine, an amino acid found in Matcha tea, is known to stimulate alpha brain waves. These waves are known for helping to increase focus and concentration.

Two easy ways to Matcha tea into your diet:

  1. Put ¾ teaspoon of powder into an 8-ounce cup of hot water.
  2. Try adding 1 teaspoon to your favorite smoothie.

Enjoy this special time of year!

With love and good health,
